Water For Health

We all know that we should drink lots of water, which is above the suggested amount of days 1.5litres (The British Dietetic Association suggests we should consume 2.5 liters a day to stay healthy). But there is a lot of controversy; Tea and coffee do not count? How squash or herbal tea? If you have an extra glass for every alcoholic drink?

The following report will try to answer the following questions:

Why do you need water in our body?
How much water should I drink?
What are the benefits of a lot of water?
What are the risks of not having enough water?
How do I know if I'm dehydrated?
Can we have too much water?
How to lose weight helps water?

Why do you need water in our body?

Water makes up 50-70% of the weight of our body and without it will die within days. Water is involved in many processes and functions of the body, helps regulate temperature, flushes out waste products and provide means important chemical and biological reactions occur. Water is lost through urine, sweat and steam lungs - needs to be replenished regularly.

How much water should I drink?

There is no set number, because it depends on your age, gender, metabolism, activity level, diet and other factors. But 2 liters of water sufficient for most people; if you are very active or live in a very hot climate, this should be increased to 3 liters. Other liquids such as squash, tea and coffee can calculate the total intake of us, but if you drink water for health, two liters of water is ideal, and other liquids. No need to buy bottled water as tap water (in the UK at least) is an acceptable standard.

What are the benefits of a lot of water?

Where do I start?! Our bodies are smart and can function in a minimal amount of water or liquid. But for our body to function at its best, for us to feel healthy, energetic and stay slim, we need more than a drink or 2. A lot of water can help prevent various diseases such as headaches, ulcers stomach, kidney problems, increased blood pressure, skin diseases and oral health problems. Help with concentration, make us active by preventing fatigue and increased metabolism. Keep water in our skin cells and muscle fat that makes us look more radiant, generally younger and reduce wrinkles. Water is a diet aid.

What are the risks of not having enough?

Less water will eventually lead to death, but few of us get here! However, millions of people are chronically dehydrated leader poor body functions. Headache, fatigue, poor skin, lack of concentration, urinary tract infections, kidney stones and poor digestion can all be caused by dehydration.

How do I know if I'm dehydrated?

Thirst is a sign of dehydration so it is a good idea to precede and drink before you feel thirsty kick in. Early symptoms of dehydration include fatigue, headaches, lack of concentration, followed by constipation and, in the short term to long term, kidney stones (which turned out to be one of the most painful things that humans can suffer - the closest man can get to light). Having dark and concentrated urine is also a sign of dehydration, but remember that food colors such as beets and synthetic vitamins (especially B vitamins) can change the color of your urine.

Can we have too many?

In short, yes. It is relatively rare, and it is not something most of us have to worry, but consumption of large amounts of water in a short time can alter the balance of salt in our bodies and dangerous. This can occur in marathon runners who always rehydration throughout the race, but not eating anything to fill the salt is missing.

How to lose weight helps water?

Thirst is often mistaken for hunger, our bodies is very difficult to distinguish between the two feelings. So having a glass of water when you feel hungry can stop hunger and works as an appetite suppressant. Most foods (especially fruits and vegetables) contain water, so that when our bodies crave food, water may also be contained in it we really need. When we eat thirsty, not hungry, your body uses more calories you do not need, simply because we need more fluids.

One of the main functions of the liver is to break down fat. It also helps your kidneys if they do not work as effectively as they could be (ie lots of other good stuff too!). If we do not consume enough water, the kidneys are not functioning at its best, in order to lend a hand - which means your work break down stored fat in the background ..... and fats remain in our bodies.

Most chemical reactions in the body occurs in water and when not enough water , all these reactions slow down - and including metabolism . No specific figures on this, but one study showed that after drinking about 0.5 liters of water , participants metabolism (the rate at which calories are burned ) increased by 30% . Estimate that an additional 1.5 liters of drinking water a day can lead to weight loss of 5 pounds over a year . If the cold water, you burn more calories than our body needs to warm up before it can be absorbed .

The benefits of drinking water are endless , it really should be clear that we all need to drink at least 1.5 liters of water a day , and when we started doing this we will see improvements in our health and vitality in a few days , if no time ! So grab a glass now and get started!
